Founder

Daniel Wells

Daniel began his academic journey at State College of Florida (formerly Manatee Community College) before continuing his studies at the University of Florida. There, he earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the College of Journalism and Communications, with a specialization in persuasive language. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and earned a minor in Sociology. During his time at UF, Daniel was recognized for his academic excellence and leadership, gaining membership in the Alpha Kappa Delta and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
He went on to pursue graduate studies at Johns Hopkins University, where he studied and earned his Master's in Nonprofit Management and Administration. His thesis, “Burnout and Compassion Fatigue in Humane Societies: Exploring Political Pressures and Future Challenges and Needs,” reflects his deep commitment to understanding the long-term sustainability and well-being of nonprofit organizations. While at Johns Hopkins, Daniel was also inducted into the Omega Nu Lambda (Kappa Chapter).
Daniel brings years of hands-on experience working with community-focused organizations, including Helping Hands, local churches, the Harry Chapin Food Bank, and regional humane societies. Through this work, he developed a strong understanding of the challenges nonprofits face and the importance of building trust within the communities they serve.
Recognizing the growing need for stronger connections between the public and the medical field, Daniel founded The Doctor’s Spotlight to create a professional platform where healthcare providers can educate, engage, and give back. Together with his team, he is proud to introduce a fresh and impactful model to the communities of Southwest Florida, one that brings trusted voices in medicine to the forefront while supporting meaningful causes.

Treasurer

Carol Paulson

Carol Paulson brings both financial expertise and a vibrant spirit to her role as Treasurer for The Doctor’s Spotlight organization. After a remarkable 41-year career in the shopping mall industry, 35 of those as a Senior Financial Analyst, Carol has mastered the art of balancing numbers while never losing sight of what truly matters: people and community.

A proud Michigan native, Carol splits her time between her home state and sunny Florida, happily trading snow boots for sandals whenever she can. She and her husband of 35 years built their own log home tucked away in the woods of northern Michigan a peaceful retreat where they’ve made countless memories with their two amazing grown children.

Her husband was a member of the fire department for 33 years, six of those as Fire Chief. As a support system she spent countless hours volunteering with the woman’s auxiliary, helping with care baskets and many fundraisers.

Over the years she volunteered at several of the churches she attended as the bookkeeper, and also assisted with property cleanup and other faculties that supported the spiritual organization.

Now retired, Carol is embracing life to the fullest. Whether she’s out on the golf course, exploring the great outdoors, or spending time with her dog, she brings energy, warmth, and a genuine love for life into everything she does.
